"The clinic is very well set up I came in 1 hour before my appointment the paperwork took all of 10 minutes to fill out they took my vitals brought me upstairs and within another 10 to 15 minutes I was wheeled into the procedure room and I was out of there before my wife was able to get home she turned around and got me I had a 730 appointment and I was home by 9 very quick very professional there was not one thing I experienced that was negative about the entire experience."

"A wall sign in rear waiting room says no electronic devices so I didn't take my cell phone back with me and wasn't able to communicate with my husband. Staff was too busy to relay my status in recovery and when my husband asked he was told to just wait. She wasn't rude just not helpful."
"Everyone was great,,,receptionist very helpful, Ken checked me/got IV in 1 stick 😊, Aaron took me to the procedure room, Crystal was there and remembered me from EGD to help set up scopes. Tom, anesthesia, was great with anesthesia/worke up right at end so fast recovery,, perfect. Annie was great in recovery. Bess was there too from my EGD. Sorry did not meet man working on scopes but thank you for working with scopes and computers. Sorry they were acting up and had to be rebooted. Thanks to all the team, was great from start to finish. And, of course, Dr. Malllkarjun was wonderful."

My husband, who complains more than I do about dismissive health providers, was impressed with Dr. Flores. I remembered Dr. Flores from having transcribed his dictation while employed by Christus Santa Rosa. He remembered me as well! Dr. Flores is one of the best physicians in his field. He’s personable and professional at the same time. He is not dismissive of a patient’s presenting issues. My husband, who’s hard to please, loves his new doctor. Now, if I could be forgiven for past mistakes, at a time I was panicky, I would love for Dr. Flores to be my GI Specialist as well! He currently also treats my older brother and younger sister. I would love to be included."

"Dr. Guerra is an awesome doctor and a fabulous human being. He took care of my significant other in 2004 and showed so much concern and compassion to him. I became his patient and had a colonoscopy with him every year until this year. He has remained kind, sweet, and always speaks to you after the test. Since I’m turning 80 in January he said we wouldn’t be meeting yearly. I told him I may have to make an appointment to just see just to see his handsome face. He laughed."

Dr. Bullock, and the staff at the GI Alliance, were all so kind and respectful. "I had the pleasure of meeting up with Dr Franklin a couple weeks back for my 5 year colonosopy and all went well and for my last visit which was shocking to say the least but encouraging. Anyway Dr Franklin and the whole team from registration to prep to the final part of adminerstering the procedure was nothing but caring and easy going. Well done and would recommend this group of professional medical staff to any body having a colonoscopy done. The only bad part was drinking the prep once you get passed that it's all but over. So thank you Dr Franklin and team for services well reindered."

"The visit with PA was great. She was kind , patient and understanding. However the MA who escorted me in was unkind . The BP electric cuff required two attempts and hurt me. The readings were high. She said would retake. She did not attempt to remove cuff, so I took off and attempted to place on other arm. She grabbed it from me. I responded. " you don't need to do that" she responded " you didn't needed to pull off your cuff" I am a nurse. I knew how to handle the cuff. In addition, my sister had passed away several days earlier. I did not needbany further confrontation. Thus, I remained quiet not making eye contact during the history review. I did make the PA aware as well. Ty."

"Dr. Joseph E. Johnson IV and his staff did an excellent job. However, the intake nurse didn't know how to do a proper IV. It took 7 times before the IV was finally in my arm. Then it was so painful, I could hardly stand it. This left bruises on my arm and hand. The anesthesiologist with Dr. Johnson in the procedure room was kind enough to redo the IV and he did an excellent job. After that everything went well. They even checked up on me the next day to see how I was doing. If you need to have a colonoscopy I highly recommend Dr. Johnson."

"I recently had an appointment with Dr. Jeff Bullock a couple of weeks ago. I was dealing with an issue in my esophagus as a result of longtime GERD. Upon walking into the medical office I was immediately welcomed in by a professional front desk staff. After a brief wait I was called back to meet Dr. Bullock. I explained my situation and he asked me some questions about other potential symptoms. I also advised Dr. Bullock of my concerns of taking proton pump inhibitors (PPI’s) for so many years and the reported potential side effects. He immediately put my fears at ease as he presented me with the latest clinical research findings and how the reported claims were simply not true and why. He then slowly explained the cause of my issue, a proposed treatment plan and he also recommended I try a new to me prescription medicine and an over the counter product, and how he thought it should work better for me. After just a couple of days my symptoms subsided and I feel so much better both physically and mentally knowing I am now in such good hands with Dr Bullock. It can me difficult for any of us to try new doctors and practices, but this was definitely the best move for me and I suspect anyone that Dr. Bullock treats. A true professional that’s at the top of his field in Gastrointestinal medicine."

"Smooth process from start to finish. My husband and I have both had a colonoscopy at S.A.G.A. We were told we'd be at the facility 2-2.5 hours and each visit was never more than 2.5 hours. The staff members from the front desk to the recovery room were great. Very friendly, caring and compassionate. We were called prior to the procedures to pay our portion of the facility bill. It was nice to have that all taken care of before hand. No one looks forward to this procedure, but the folks at San Antonio Gastroenterology Associates do their best to make it a positive experience. "I come to this SAGA Westover hills location regularly. Dr Kevin Franklin diagnosed my idiopathic Gastroparesis pretty quickly 2 years ago. I had to wait a couple months to be seen, but I was dealing with my GI issues for almost 2 years so a couple months wait was worth it when I finally had an answer. With just one important question he narrowed down my differential diagnosis. He ordered a endoscopy (within weeks) which confirmed my Gastroparesis. With metoclopramide and omeprazole my symptoms improved, as well as my quality of life. After my diagnosis, maybe about 8 months later, I was having upper right quadrant abdominal pain and was seen at my PCP, who ordered a CT and found nothing remarkable. I then scheduled an appointment with Dr Franklins PA, Jennifer Martinez, and she told me my symptoms were typical for gallbladder disease, and she ordered a CCK imaging test, which confirmed my gallbladder functioning at 3%. She then recommended me for a cholecystectomy with Dr Vargas. I was scheduled for surgery about 4 months after my initial symptom onset. I have since been so much better. She sees me at regular follow ups and put me on a prescription probiotic which has helped all of my GI symptoms as well. I am so glad I found this practice and the medical team that has helped me tremendously. The front desk is always so kind and professional as well. I’ve never had an issue here, just typical wait times for a doctors office, nothing too crazy. I’ve never waited hours to be seen or anything."

Before your procedure and after your procedure, anytime you have a question they take the time to provide you answers. The patience the nurses have is truly incredible. My neighbor must have asked his nurse at least eight times how to put on the two surgery gowns and he still put them on wrong. She just exclaimed “it happens all the time” and once again explained how to properly put on his two gowns. I only had to ask once, just to make certain I was wearing them properly…funny memory. After the procedure, Dr. Flores came to visit to explain his findings, what he had to do, plus what to expect next. You are finally rolled out in a “limo” wheelchair, for safety purposes due to the lingering anesthesia. My ride showed up, I has handheld to the door and helped into my chariot, being pampered all the way. So this is what it feels like to be Royalty…."

ALVAREZ, but outpatient surgery scheduling is important It takes a certain type of attitude, attention, and servant leadership to assist people during a period of uncertainty. The gentleman that "assisted" me with my scheduling was NO ASSISTANCE, provided the procedure location 2 hours before the appointment, I never received the details he said that was on 4:07 pm on a FRIDAY. I'm glad to be reassured I don't have cancer but if I die from a reaction to med. I'm just as dead. See you on Tues. And maybe we can figure out how I can poop and have pain relief. "I have been a patient of Dr. Ramirez for over 30 years and she is one of the best doctors. She genuinely cares about her patients. She is never rushed and takes time to listen to your concerns. The only issue I have is with her medical staff. During my last visit they failed to schedule my 6 month following up, they only called in one of the two prescriptions needed and I have been trying to get them to submit a prior-authorization form. I have called three different times and I’m still waiting. This seems to be a constant issue. What’s even more frustrating is that Dr. Ramirez spoke directly to the medical assistant after seeing me and told her exactly what was needed and it still wasn’t taken care of properly."
